John Barry (1745 – 13 September 1803) was an officer in the Continental Navy during the American Revolutionary War and later in the United States Navy. Barry was born in Tacumshane, County Wexford, Ireland and appointed a Captain in the Continental Navy 7 December 1775.
A Statue of Commodore Barry stands overlooking the Crescent Quay in Wexford town in Ireland. It was a gift to the town from the United States and was delivered by a US Navy frigate. The statue was unveiled in 1956, and each year a parade and wreath-laying ceremony takes place at the statue to celebrate "Barry Day".

We are ideally situated for visiting his landmarks and where The Great man was born. We have had many US Navy Veterans and Serving officers stay with us.
